The Potato Patch
WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED
Due to some personal issues, we have made the extremely difficult decision to FULLY CLOSE The Potato Patch's rehoming facility until further notice.
We are in the process of moving into a larger, purpose-fitted premises, and we want to be able to fully commit to this - coming back bigger, better and stronger than before. In order to facilitate this, we will be closing until we have the headspace, time and ability to dedicate to the project. We expect this will be sometime in 2026.
What does this mean for The Potato Patch?
-
Closed to ALL surrenders with immediate effect
-
All available pigs will be rehomed
-
Our resident and permanent foster pigs will still remain here, and be cared and supported for by us financially
-
Our admins will still monitor our social media pages on reduced duties to support previous adopters and continue to raise awareness and further education into guinea pig needs
-
We will still complete some fundraising (which will hopefully include our planned calendar photoshoot fun day), monies from which will be allocated into out accounts to support pigs remaining in care, save towards our new premises project, and on occasion, support other rescues in need in the local area

How can you help?
Please continue to support us, share our posts, attend out events and donate if you can! We still have piggies to support and a project to save for. And please don't recommend us to people wanting to adopt or surrender for the time being. We will publish a full list of local, trusted rescue centres to direct people to in due course.

We have rehomed an estimated 1500-1800 guinea pigs in the last 5 years, but this number will grow again. We want to reassure you - we are sitll here, the website and social medias will remain open, and at some point, when the time is right, OUR REHOMING FACILITY WILL REOPEN.
But for now, we need space and we need to prioritiae our families.

Thank you, as always, from the bottom of our crazy, pig-loving hearts.
